Volleyball World Cup Venus Evolution Iso Game

Banned OVR: 14 | Re: FIVB Volleyball World Cup : Venus Evolution This one is pretty interesting. The arenas look absolutely stunning for a ps2 game..the female player models look great. it really captures the excitement of international womens volley ball, especially the cutscenes. The gameplay is pretty solid. It is a timing-based game. Basically you serve it, then when the ball is on the opposite side of the net, you are on defense. during this time you can move the three front line girls to the left or right with up and down on the left analog stick (since you are viewing from the sideline). If you press (X), the one with the red diamond above her head (middle girl) will jump and try to time and block the opponents shot. If you press (Triangle), all three front row girls will jump to try to stuff the opponent. This can either work and score a point, go out of bounds, or miss entirely and be scooped up by the other back girls on the team. Basically you try to time your button press as close as you can to when the ball collides with the girl's arm. Each face button does a different type of set. So if a lob goes from the CPU side to your back row, initially, a girl will automatically get in position to set the ball to a teammate, (automatically at least with the default settings) and you can press either of the 4 face buttons for a different type of shot. if you press (O) and <-- (on the left analog stick) you will set it back to a player behind the current player (nice way to switch it up). If you miss-set it and the ball is heading out of bounds, you can control the nearest player to run a ball down (you can even dive) with the player with the red diamond over her head. It's surprisingly fun and truly a pleasure on the eyes. There are 4 camera angles, but sadly no up and down camera. (weak) Views A-C are all variations of sideline views, but pretty close to the action. View D is a much more zoomed out view, still from sideline orientation. I feel like an up and down view would have added a lot to the gameplay, but i can live with the views that are there. Now, the game is mostly in japanese, so i haven't got to really mess with any of the options. but the fact is is that this game appears very, very, very, very deep. I mean from the substitutions to the stat tracking, there are so many submenus i feel like i am playing pro yakuu spirits 4 or something. i definetly want to move up to the highest difficulty levels, so i really need a translation guide. i am hoping there are some manual control options in there (so i can control the girls pre-set). but, it is still a fun game out of the box. there are some difficulty settings that i have noticed while progressing through the menus. I am going to post a few screenshots of the exhibition mode team select, difficulty select, substitutions main screen, in-game pause menu, and a stadium shot. if anyone could translate these screens, i would really appreciate it. Thanks.. International Volleyball play best of 5 games up to 25 standard, so matches can become intense. at least without increasing any difficulty or control options out of the box, a lot of the animations of the girls launch automatically, but there defiantly is some user control mixed in there. I will provide a more detailed impressions once i figure out all the advanced difficulty and control options. again, any translations would be appreciated. Does anyone have this game?
